Elizabeth is an artist working with the materiality of painting, and trying to engage with the canon of art history in a contemporary context. Her painting practise investigates historical methods used to make pigments in order to shed light on the alchemical processes used to create the artworks of the past.
Elizabeth studied painting at City and Guilds of London and won the Griffin Art Prize the following year. She moved to Ibiza in 2014 for a sponsored residency investigating the pigments produced by the iron rich soil. She currently works in her studio in Barcelona and London where she holds an artist-in-residence post facilitated by the aesthetician Katrina Phillips. Her work is held in various collections around the world.
